Geneva Police Department - ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

The Geneva Police Department is currently accepting applications for a full time Deputy Marshal. Applicants must be: at least 21 years of age, a United States Citizen, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, possess a valid Indiana Driver’s license, be of good reputation and character. The applicant should be of good appearance and personality and possess an aptitude and attitude for police work. The applicant must be in good physical condition, with no infirmities except for vision that has been corrected to 20/20 and be able to pass the standard physical agility test as set by ILEA. If applicable, the applicant must possess an honorable discharge from the military service if served.
The successful candidate must either already possess the basic certification from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy or must have the ability, aptitude and attitude to achieve this. Interested applicants who already possess the basic certification will be waived from the physical agility testing required to enter ILEA.
The position’s pay is based on experience. Starting pay for a candidate without ILEA basic certification shall be $35,568. A Certified applicant shall be measured on years of experience. The Town of Geneva is willing to compensate for up to 5 years of experience or a maximum starting rate of $41,258.
The position also includes the benefits of: Health, eye and dental and life insurance, enrollment in PERF, and the eligibility to earn; sick, vacation and personal days at a set rate. The position requires the Candidate to be available to work a variety of hours including weekends and holidays when necessary and to be on call when required.
